The largest road race in Kansas is in downtown Wichita! With a beautiful route, bibtag timing and a high-energy finish line, River Run is a party you won’t want to miss. Bring your best and have fun with friends, family and coworkers. All registrants receive a Riverfest button and commemorative T-shirt. Finishers receive a medallion. A complimentary finish line breakfast is available for all 10K finishers. The awards ceremony for each race will be at the WaterWalk Pavilion Stage immediately following completion of each race. Johnsonville Big Taste Grill

Location: WaterWalk Pavilion
The Big Taste Grill is bringing BIG brat taste to Riverfest! This massive mobile grill is a unique feat of engineering and turns out 2,500 brats an hour!

Admirals’ Pancake Feed
8:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Location: WaterWalk
Your order is ready! The Past Admirals are serving up piping hot pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee for only $7. Admiral Windwagon Smith XLI will be stopping by to help serve you.

Meritrust Tot Trot

10:45 a.m.
Location: Waterwalk Pavilion/River Run Finish Line
This fun run for children ages 2 to 7 is also an adorable spectator sport! Trot competitors receive a medallion at the finish line. Bring your camera to capture the thrill of victory! Registration includes a Tot Trot T-shirt and Riverfest button.

Roll Up Your Sleeve for Riverfest

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Red Cross Blood Donor Center, 707 N. Main
American Red Cross is proud to sponsor “Roll Up Your Sleeve for Riverfest.” Presenting donors can enter to win a one-night stay donated by Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview (our official Riverfest Hotel). The stay includes a room with a riverfront view for Saturday, June 7. Visit or call 1-800-RED CROSS to make an appointment to donate.

Riverfest Softball Tournament

Jet Ski Racing: IJSBA Mid-America Watercross Championships

Location: Arkansas River North of the Lewis Street Bridge
See Jet ski racers from across the nation challenged by the most difficult course in this year’s series. Enjoy a spectacular day of racing featuring the high flying action of the log jump and speeds reaching 80 mph. For more information call (316) 312-4049.

Toy Train Display

Fun for train fans of all ages, this display by the Wichita Toy Train Museum will have you dreaming of ridin’ the rails.

I Bike Douglas Tours
11 a.m. – noon
Location: Bike Valet @ Ackerman’s Backyard
Bike along Douglas as you see and learn facts about Wichita’s architectural gems.  These rides are designed as leisurely rides and all ages are welcome.  Cameras are allowed and encouraged, as there will be ample opportunity to capture some unique and memorable photographs. All rides are free with a RiverFest button.

Arkansas River Coalition River Rides: Canoes & Kayaks
11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Under the Douglas Street Bridge
Bring a friend and ride a canoe or kayak on the river, free with a Riverfest button. Participation may be subject to conditions, restrictions and prohibitions. Details at

Dodge, duck, dip and dive to stay alive in this fast-paced game for all ages. Six-member teams participate in double-elimination rounds by age group. Sign up here.

Tennis Fun Day

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center, 551 Nims St.
Whether you already love tennis or have never walked on a court, you’ll have a great time at Tennis Fun Day! U.S. Tennis Association pros and players will lead fun tennis games and activities for all ages and abilities on the 10 courts at this beautiful South Riverside Park facility. See wheelchair tennis demonstrations and play alongside the WSU Tennis team! Tennis players, bring your racquets, but there will be kids racquets available for use. Also, 100 kids will win new racquets from USTA when they sign up for a free USTA Junior Tennis membership!

Local celebrities face off in this high-noon showdown that is sure to leave a little egg on someone’s face!

Broadway Showcase

Enjoy a sneak peek of the up and coming 2014 season of Music Theatre of Wichita. This world-class entertainment is a Wichita tradition and one that Riverfest is proud to offer.

World Record Attempt: Longest Line of Bicycles
1 p.m.
Location: WaterWalk Pavilion
Pedal down to the WaterWalk Pavilion and be one of the 1200 bike riders needed to break the current world record (1148). This parade of bikes will travel north along the bike path to the Keeper of the Plains and then pedal past Kennedy Plaza before returning to WaterWalk.

Tug of War
3:30 – 5 p.m.
Location: O.J. Watson Park
A contest of wills and sheer strength with 6-member teams competing to see which will be crowned Tug of War champions! Sign up here.

Coleman Country Concert with Jerrod Niemann
