The Prairie Schooner Mate Program is a youth leadership, mentorship, and civic engagement program of Wichita Festivals, Inc. Prairie Schooner Mates are high school student leaders selected to represent their schools while serving as youth ambassadors for Wichita Festivals and the Wichita community.

Through volunteerism, leadership development, mentorship, community service, and hands-on experiences, Prairie Schooner Mates develop meaningful relationships, discover their leadership potential, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of civic engagement.

Our mission is to help cultivate the next generation of community-minded leaders by connecting young people with opportunities to serve, lead, grow, and make a lasting impact.
