FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, July 26, 2019 – WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita Festivals, Inc. today announced the winners of the Riverfest 2019 Photo & Video Contest sponsored by 360Wichita.com, Hydraulic Studios and RSM Marketing at a Final Friday Exhibit and Awards Presentation at RSM.

“We’ve really enjoyed being a part of this 14-year Riverfest tradition,” said Ian Clark, content and community manager, 360Wichita.com. “It’s wonderful to see the festival through the eyes of so many talented people.”

Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mention in seven photography categories, as well as two video awards, were presented by Ty Patton, chair of the board of directors of WFI, and Admiral Windwagon Smith XLVI, Ken Atnip. The Best of Show photo award went to Fernando Salazar for capturing an iconic shot of the Wichita Wagonmasters in the Safelite AutoGlass Sundown Parade on May 31. Best Video was presented to Cathy Le.

Professional and amateur photographers have the chance to win their share of 33 awards – and $2,375 in cash prizes – by entering their favorite Riverfest photos and videos. A total of 859 photos and videos were submitted by 59 photographers and videographers this year. Their entries help document Riverfest 2019 and are used to promote the festival on its website, in advertisements and elsewhere.

“The archive that develops from this contest is important to Riverfest, not just for promotional purposes, but as a record of the festival, too,” said Teri Mott, director of marketing and communication at WFI. “The participants, and the photos and videos they enter, become a part of our history, and we are grateful to them for sharing their talent.”
